Paediatric patients with undifferentiated hypotension pose a lot of diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Standard clinical examination may not answer all queries as far as paediatric critical care is concerned. Paediatric critical care practitioners are increasingly using point of care ultrasound to enhance precision in diagnosis and treatment of shock and other disease states. Further to this, POCUS increases procedural safety during paediatric vascular access, a pre-requisite to any form of pharmacologic intervention. It is with this in mind that the Critical Care Society of Kenya intends to run a webinar towards increasing the uptake of paediatric point of care ultrasound.
